GUIDELINES/ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION AND ELECTION/RE-ELECTION INTO THE COUNCIL OF THE INSSTITUTE OF CHARTERED SECRETARIES AND ADMINISTRATORS OF NIGERIA (ICSAN).
ELECTION
- A member seeking election into the Governing Council (“the Council”) of the Institute must have paid his/her annual membership dues and any other dues/levies prescribed by the Institute up to date and not later than March 31ST of the year of election. Such a person must have paid his/her annual subscription as and when due in the last five years preceding the election year.
- Must be a Fellow of the Institute and must have been a Fellow for minimum of three years preceding the election year.
- Must have participated regularly in the Institute’s activities with evidence of such participation as reference. Such person must have participated in at least one event of the Institute every year in the three years preceding election year. Such a person must have attended at least two Annual Conferences and two Annual General Meetings in the last four years.
- Must be an active member of a CHAPTER of the Institute, must have participated in the Chapter’s activities regularly and must obtain an endorsement from the Chapter for the purposes of the election. Such a person must be up to date in payment of Chapter subscription as and when due for the last three years preceding election year.
- Such a person must not have any pending or inconclusive disciplinary issues at the national or chapter level.
- Such a person must not be in the employment of the Institute at the time of contesting and must not have been in the last seven years preceding the election year.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
- A member seeking election or re-election must be of sound mind, must not be an ex- convict, must not have been bankrupt and must be a responsible member of the society.
- This guideline is recommended under the exercise of the powers of the Council as contained in Schedule 1(3) Section 2; RE-“POWERS OF COUNCIL”
- These guidelines shall take immediate effect and shall be applicable to the election/re-election into Council coming up in June, 2025.
