Student registration

The Institute’s professional examination is made up of sixteen subjects which are divided into four stages. The subjects are integrated and progressive, so the knowledge gained at an early stage is a necessary foundation for later parts.

Exemption Policy

Non-degree holders will start from the foundation stage. They must however possess the minimum entry requirement which is five O-level credits that must include English Language and Mathematics.

Graduates with related degrees (ICSAN’S CPA, B.Sc./HND Accounting, Business Administration, LL.B, and B.Sc/HND Finance) are exempted from all subjects in Foundation, Pre Professional and Professional Programme Part One(1) stages, such degree holders shall be required to write and pass all the subjects in Professional Programme Part Two(2).

Non-related degrees holders are exempted from Foundation, Pre-Professional, Strategic and Operations Management and Management Accounting in Professional Programme Part 1 and shall be required to write and pass six subjects i.e. Corporate Law and Financial Accounting in Professional Programme Part1 and the subjects in Professional Programme Part 2.

Holders of professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA and CIBN) are exempted from all subjects in Foundation, Pre Professional and Professional Programme Part 1 stages, such degree holders shall be required to write and pass all the subjects in Professional Programme Part 2.

EXAMINATION PERIOD

The Institute’s examinations are held in June and December of every year. The closing date for June examinations is 30th of April while the closing date for December examinations is 31st of October.

Examination can be deferred at any time. However, this will attract a fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N25,000) per subject.

Lecture time, duration and accredited lecture centers

Lectures are organized for students preparing for the Institute’s examinations. Lectures for June examinations start in first week of February while lectures for December examinations start in first week of August. Lectures are strictly on weekends i.e Saturdays and Sundays. The lecture duration is four months for each diet.

Find below the step by step procedure on how to register for ICSAN exam, update your profile, apply for exam, check your result, print exam docket, print admission letter etc.

1.         Visit www.icsan.org and click on register at the upper right hand corner

OR click on STUDENT AREA menu and select “New applicant”

2.    A registration form will be displayed. For uncompleted form (form saved as draft), enter your email address and password.

For fresh applicant click on create new profile

Fill the form below and click on register

You will be presented with a form. Kindly fill the form appropriately. Note that all field marked with asterisk (*) are compulsory. Click on complete registration or save and register later.

Your application will be review and a response is expected from us within 24hrs of submission except on weekend. For every successful application, you will receive an email to proceed for payment. Likewise for rejected application, the reason will be stated and what to do next.

A form will be presented. Kindly fill all required fields appropriately. To update your display picture, click on browse and select the file to use. ONLY .jpg and .png are acceptable and none must be more than 100kb. After selection of file, scroll to the bottom of the form and click on save to have your picture displayed.

EXAM APPLICATION PROCESS

Visit www.icsan.org and click on login

or go directly to portal.icsan.org

Your username is student registration number and not your email address. This must have been sent to your email address after you made payment for registration and type of exemption given. Click here to view our exemption policy. The default password is password

After a successful login, a dialog box will be displayed that contain your name, registration number, current grade and outstanding dues. Please be informed that before you can successfully apply for any examination, you must clear all outstanding payments (this does not applied to new applicant).

Click on members menu and select exam application as shown below

Select exam year and diet and click on submit

Check the subject(s) you want to write, ensure you select exam centre close to you and click on submit & proceed with payment button

You can make payment online using Interswitch or generate invoice and make payment in bank using the eTranzact PayOutlet.

PRINTING OF EXAM DOCKET

Immediately payment for exam application is completed, you are expected to print your exam docket and keep it. It will also be available for printing until closing of exam registration. Click on Members menu and select Print Exam Docket as highlighted below:

You can view all transactions (SUCCESSFUL, PENDING, FAILED) related to your account by selecting member payment history under report menu.

Select the checkbox for the outstanding dues and click on proceed to payment

NYSC REGISTRATION

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) is a leading professional body dedicated to excellence in Corporate Governance and Public Administration. It is the only professional body authorized in Nigeria to conduct the examinations leading to the qualification of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

The Institute understands the need to provide a transparent framework for addressing grievances related to examination marking/assessment process. Below is the procedure:

  1. Application for appeal MUST be made in writing, addressed to the Registrar/CEO stating the particulars of the candidate and the issue(s) for determination.
  2.  Such application must be received within two (2) weeks of the release of examination results
  3.  The Education Committee will arrange for the script to be reviewed by the Chief Examiner of the Course in question.
  4. The findings of the Chief Examiner shall be forwarded to the Education Committee.
  5. The Education Committee’s recommendation shall be presented to Council for final approval.
  6. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the review in writing not later than one month from the date of receipt of the grievance application.
  7. A non – refundable administrative fee of Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) MUST be paid upon the appeal.
