ICSAN Award

OBJECTIVES OF THE ICSAN AWARD

  1. To recognize the leadership efforts of individuals and corporate bodies practicing good corporate governance principles
  2. To recognize the implementation of innovative practices, programmes and projects that promotes the cause of corporate governance by individuals and corporate bodies.
  3. To identify and commend the implementation of best practices in corporate governance.
  4. To showcase and project the deserving winners to the society at large.

COMPOSITION AND GUIDELINES FOR THE ICSAN AWARD COMMITTEE MEMBERS

  1. A subcommittee would be constituted from the Conference and AGM committee
  • The criteria would serve as a guide to the committee in the execution of their task.
  • The decision of the committee is subject to the approval of the Council.

CRITERIA FOR ICSAN AWARD TO INDIVIDUALS AND CORPORATE BODIES:

(A) ICSAN DISTINGUISHED CHARTERED SECRETARY AWARD

  1. Must be a Fellow or Associate  of the Institute
  2. Must be a person of unquestionable character, integrity and good conduct  expected of such a person worthy to be conferred with such a prestigious award
  3. Must be occupying a senior position of responsibility in his organization.
  4. Must have made identifiable, tangible and landmark contribution towards the upliftment of the Institute and the profession at large.
  5. Must be seen to have participated in the Institutes  activities’ to an appreciable extent at the National and State Chapter level including payment of dues and subscriptions as at when due.
  6. Must be a person currently practicing and excelling in his/her endeavour 

(B) ICSAN  AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE (INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY)

  1. May or may not be a member of the Institute
  2. The person must be seen to have made outstanding and remarkable contributions to the development of Corporate Governance in Nigeria.
  3. He/She must have shown him or herself to be a person who has demonstrated faith in compliance and corporate governance issues.
  4.  The person must be a key player within  the Public or Private sector
  5. He/She should be seen to have qualities of leadership, team spirit, integrity and commitment to Corporate Governance.

    (C)    ICSAN AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE (CORPORATE CATEGORY)

  1. The organisation must have been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
  2. Must have complied with the CAC directives on the appointment of Company Secretaries.
  3. Must have a good track record of operations within the sector to which the company belongs.
  4. Must have Chartered Secretaries in its employment.
  5. Must be seen to be corporate governance compliant with respect to the statutory regulations where applicable to the organisation
  6. Must be seen to be involved in Corporate Social Responsibility
  7. Must be a key player in the industry or sector in which it operates
  8. Must have a good track record of market performance over a period of time.
