Lynda Onefeli LLM, FCIS.

Lynda Onefeli is a Legal Practitioner, Chartered Secretary and Administrator, a Corporate Governance and Compliance Practitioner and a certified Board Evaluator and Corporate Governance Auditor. She obtained her first degree in law from the Lagos State University, Ojo, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002, obtained an LLM from the University of Lagos an MPhil from Babcock University Ilishan Remo Ogun State. and is currently pursuing a PhD at the Babcock University Ilishan Remo Ogun State.

Lynda is the Principal Partner of Veritas Solicitors, a firm of Legal Practitioners, Chartered Secretaries, and Administrators. She is a corporate governance expert, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), a member of its Governing Council, and the Governance Practitioners’ Committee Chairman. She is a member of the Nigerian and International Bar Associations. Lynda was elected as the first female Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) Lagos State Chapter in 2007. She is a past Chairman of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria Lagos State Chapter and its first female Chairman.

As a governance practitioner, she has provided technical and practical support to companies on corporate compliance, corporate governance, administration, and general corporate matters, ensuring compliance with the law, regulations, and best practices through proactive and periodic secretarial/legal audits. She is versed in providing a full range of company secretarial services to companies operating within the various sectors of the Nigerian economy, facilitating, attending, and recording board, board committee, management, and shareholders meetings. Some notable company secretarial services she has rendered include designing board strategy implementation framework, among other policy documents. She has also developed tailor-made corporate governance policies for several companies, such as the Board Charter, Conflict of Interest Policy, Sustainability Policy, whistle-blowing policy, Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Dividend policy.

Lynda currently serves on the Board of several companies. She has attended several local and international courses, including the Programme on Negotiation at the Harvard Law School, and is an International Finance Corporation (IFC) certified Corporate Governance Trainer.
