INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS (INEDS) WORKSHOP
The Independent Non-Executive Directors (INED) play a unique role on the Board of organizations. Their role is germane towards the promotion of good corporate governance practices within their boards.
In order to bring an independent and objective perspective to the boardroom, there is a need for a proper understanding of what their roles are as enshrined in the 2018 Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance. In addition, relevant statutory codes make it mandatory for Boards to have INEDs.
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), recognizes the strategic roles INEDs play on the Boards of organizations and as such, it is holding a one-day Workshop aimed at enhancing capacity and reinforcing knowledge for Independent Non-Executive Directors, Directors of Boards and all aspiring Directors of companies.
