ICSAN thrills participants at Public Practice Day

Vice-President of the Institute, Mr. Bode Ayeku FCIS; Chairman of the Public Practice Day, Mrs. Ronke Opajobi, FCIS; an Assistant Director at the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC), Mr. Adesola Amoo; President of the Institute, Mr. Samuel Kolawole, FCIS; the Head of the Lagos Office of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Mr. Tolulope Sonaike, a discussant, Mr. Sesan Akinsanya FCIS and the Registrar, Mrs. Nkechi Onyenso, FCIS during the 2017 Public Practice Day of the Institute which held on Thursday, July 27.

The Institute held her 2017 Public Practice Day for Chartered Secretaries, Company Secretaries, Lawyers and Administrators on Thursday 27th July, 2107 at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Conference Centre, situated at 10, Nurudeen Olowopopo Street (Near MKO Abiola Gardens) Central Business District, Alausa, Lagos.
The theme of the Public Practice Day was “Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria”
The Keynote Speaker was the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Alhaji Bello Mahmud, who was represented at the forum by the Head of the Lagos Office of the Commission, Mr. Tolulope Sonaike.
The second Speaker was an Assistant Director at the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) Mr. Adesola Amoo, who presented a paper on the topic “Corporate Governance and the Integrity of Financial Statements”
The discussant at the forum was a Fellow of the Institute, Mr. Sesan Akinsanya FCIS.
The Chairman of the Occasion was a Past President of the Institute, Dr. Nosike Agokei FCIS.
The Public Practice Day turned out to be remarkably successful on all parameters including attendance, quality of paper delivery and even the financials. All the participants from the participants suggested they were very satisfied with the programme.

Tuesday July 25, 2017 was an epoch-making day in Institute as the ICSAN held the investiture of a new President, Mr. Samuel Kolawole FCIS as the 26th President of the Institute and the Chairman of her Governing Council.
The investiture which was held at the Shell Nigerian Hall, Muson Centre, Marina, Onikan , Lagos attracted dignitaries from all walks of life.
Until his elevation, Kolawole was the Vice President and the Chairman of the Finance and General Purpose Committee of the Institute.
The new President promised to build on all the good works started by his predecessors. He identified a number of areas his administration would focus on which included boosting the Institute’s fledgling linkage programme with more universities, enhancement of publicity and perception profile of ICSAN, overhauling the capacity of the Training and Consultancy Department of the Institute, facilitating of the building of a befitting National Secretariat (ICSAN Tower) boosting of Membership of the Institute and staff capacity building and motivation.
In his acceptance speech, Kolawole said “It is a thing of personal pride to me that all the Presidents the Institute have produced hitherto have been men of exemplary constitution in capacities, talents and character and they have all made indelible contributions over the years to get ICSAN to its present enviable status.
“I want to state solemnly that I duly recognize the full import of the responsibility you are thrusting on me and the Members of the Governing Council,and I promise to use all the energies, capabilities, skills, capacities and talents that Almighty God has given me to protect the interest, promote the cause and espouse the advancement of our dear Institute.”
