Dr. (Mrs.) Titilayo Fowokan is the Group Head, Strategic Tax and Compliance, Dangote Industries Limited and oversees the tax affairs of Dangote entities Groupwide. She is also involved in organizing trainings, facilitating training sessions and delivering papers on selected topics on taxation, accounting, fraud examination and controls. She had her first degree in Mathematics Education (B.Ed.) from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria, Masters in International Business Law (LLM) from University of Cumbria, Carlisle, United Kingdom and Ph.D. in Accounting with specialization in Taxation from Charisma University, Turks and Caicos, British West Indies.
She started her career as a professional career in accountancy and taxation with Price Waterhouse in April 1994 (Now PwC) and later joined the firm of Akintola Williams Deloitte in July 2006. She left Tax Practice for industry in January 2010 when she joined Oando Plc as the Group Tax Manager. After 6 years of working in Oando Plc, she moved to Dangote Industries Limited in April 2016 as the Head of Dangote Group’s Tax Dept. where she is till date.
Titilayo is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Practitioner with over 26 years of experience in audit, accounting, and taxation services. She has significant experience in audit and business assurance services, internal controls, tax compliance and advisory services for both corporate entities and individuals. Her expertise in tax advisory covers inbound investment advisory for international companies as well as expatriate tax management. Her industry experience covers Financial Services, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Service industries.
Titilayo is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and the Association of Forensic Accounting Researchers (AFAR). She is a General Practitioner (GP) of the South African Institute of Tax Professionals (SAIT), a Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), a Certified Internal Control Auditor (CICA) of the Institute for Internal Controls (TheIIC), an Associate member of both the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
She is a Council member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), the Chairperson of the Society of Women in Taxation (SWIT – Lagos Chapter), the 2nd Vice President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (Lagos Chapter), Vice President (Membership and Professional Development) of Association of Forensic Accounting Researchers (AFAR), and Vice President (Membership) of the Professional Women Network (PWN), Lagos. Titilayo is married to Engr. Adedeji Fowokan and has two loving boys, Ayomikun and Iyanu-Oluwa
