ICSAN stages historic Health Walk for life
Convinced by the huge benefits derivable from taking a walk as a form of exercise, the Institute staged first of its kind ICSAN Health-walk-for-life event on Saturday, July 16, 2016.
The event is part of the programmes to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of theInstitute. The event was flagged off by the representative of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr (Mrs.), Idiat Oluranti Adebule, Mrs. Margaret Solarin, who is the Tutor General and Permanent Secretary, Education District 2)
The walk took off from ICSAN Secretariat, at Plot 6, Elephant Cement Way, Alausa through the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa towards the Toll Gate via Motorways to Oregun, then back to ICSAN Secretariat.
In the words of the President of the Institute, Dr. Nat Ofo, the event was conceived as initiative to boost the health of participants to underscore the fact that health is the bedrock of human prosperity.
He said “HEALTH-WALK-FOR-LIFE programme is one of the series of activities already outlined for our ICSAN AT 50 celebration. Golden Jubilee is worth celebration as we can say categorically that our Institute has grown steadily to become a voice to be reckoned with on Corporate Governance and public administration in Nigeria.
“We are delighted to start our Golden Jubilee with an exercise like this; it tells you clearly that ICSAN Governing Council places high premium on the health of its members. Health, they say is wealth. It is only a healthy individual that can make impact on its society, hence our determination to encourage all members to stay healthy.”
All the participants in the walk expressed delight at the initiative, stressing they relished the experience.
